Leigh Building and Preservation Trust sign 99 year lease on Mill Two

Breaking News
We have now commenced works on Mill Two. We took a lease on the whole mill in February 2018
Leigh Spinners Ltd retain two floors and we therefore have four floors which are currently vacant. These offer 120,000 square feet for new uses.
We have secured over £400,000 through grants from Historic England, Wigan Council, Sport England, Swire Trust and Awards for All.
This will allow us to repair the roof which is leaking badly, to get the lift working again and to fit out one floor for a range of sports and meeting facilities. Work began on these elements in March and volunteers have been clearing floors in preparation for the internal works.
We still have three floors to fill and whilst we have interest in all these floors we have still to secure funding for these. Applications are being made to several funding bodies and it is hoped to have positive news later this year.
Future users include table tennis, indoor bowls, a conference centre and Leigh Hackspace.
